Wheel Throwing 1 & 2 is a 4 week session. Over four classes at three hours each you will be guided through finding your personal approach to the potters wheel. Sessions are open to beginners and those with some clay experience. For the beginner, you will learn the fundamentals of turning mug, bowl and plate forms on the potters wheel. Your instructor will guide you through centering, opening, widening and stretching clay. For the more experienced, the instructor will help you problem solve, create more complex forms, and advance your skills. In the latter part of the session, all will be guided through trimming, addition of handles, embellishing and glazing your work.
Depending on scale, you can expect to bring home 7-20 coloured, microwave, dishwasher and oven safe treasures.
To ensure you receive the most from your experience, we provide two additional services: Demonstrations will be broadcast for repeated viewing from your wheel. Additionally, you will have access to online content for further learning at home. All tools and supplies are included in your material fee.
